Will UFC 197 see history made?

If all the rumours are to be believed, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor will get the chance to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two different titles simultaneously as he takes on lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos.

Dos Anjos opened up as a betting favourite for the March 5 event but with the kind of momentum that McGregor has behind him, many will find it difficult to pick against him.

And as upset as Frankie Edgar is that he’s not being given the next crack at McGregor, that didn’t stop him from picking a winner as he’s edged towards the Brazilian.

“It’s not an easy matchup for McGregor,” Edgar told the Los Angeles Times. “Dos Anjos brings a lot of pressure. He’s a bigger guy, has world-class jiujitsu. His wrestling is phenomenal as of late, and he has power in his hands and kicks.

“I definitely lean toward him, but I thought Aldo would’ve done a lot better, too, so you never know in this game.”
