It’s fair to say that Diego Brandao isn’t having the best year so far.

The TUF 14 bounced back from his knockout loss to Conor McGregor at UFC Dublin with a stellar 2015, scoring back-to-back victories over Jimmy Hettes and Katsunori Kikuno in 2015.

His momentum in the 145 lb division came to a sharp halt this year as he suffered a submission loss to Brian Ortega at UFC 195 in January. and then tested positive for marijuana metabolites after the fight. He is currently under temporary suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission due to the failed drug test, with his disciplinary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in Las Vegas.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Brandao as last Friday he was arrested after allegedly striking a strip-club employee in the face with a gun, according to the abqjournal.com.

According to the report, he got involved in an argument with a DJ at Albuquerque strip club Knockouts on Thursday before leaving the club.

He returned later, but was denied reentry. He then allegedly began attempting to punch club employees before leaving a second time.

Brandao returned again with a gun and allegedly pointed it at a patron and employee before striking a member of staff with the weapon.

The fighter was arrested on Friday and charged with aggravated battery and three counts of aggravated assault. His bail was set at $15,000 and he left the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center on Saturday night.
