First bouts announced for BAMMA 24: Ireland vs. England

What could go wrong?

They’re going ahead with it!

We reckoned that it may not be the best idea to market a mixed martial arts event as Ireland vs. England but BAMMA are sticking to their guns and have announced the first fights for their next trip to Dublin.

Beers have showered the cage after the main event of the last two MMA events at the 3Arena and we expect the intensity to ramp up a gear when the British promotion pit Irish fighters against English fighters… on the same day as the nations clash in the Six Nations… in the centenary year of the 1916 Rising.

Four Ireland vs. England bouts have been announced to go along with two super fights for the February 27th event.

SBG welterweight Peter Queally makes his promotional debut against England’s Nathan Jones while Magic Myles Price meets Cheltenham fighter Mario Saeed.

Add to those bouts a pair of middleweight encounters which see Dublin’s own Chris Fields take on Manchester’s Andy DeVent and Paul Byrne, who looked mightily impressive at BAMMA 22, meet Bola Omoyele.

The card will also feature a bantamweight superfight between Tom DuQuesnoy and Damien Rooney before the BAMMA middleweight title is decided between Cheick Kone and John Phillips.

We may be concerned about fan behaviour at the event and we may worry about crowd trouble but we’re also massively intrigued at how the top-quality fights play out on the night.
