Too MMA fighters have been cutting way too much weight just to have a size advantage inside the cage or ring. One day after Kevin Lee required an extra hour to make championship weight for his interim lightweight title fight against Tony Ferguson at UFC 216, we saw a genuinely disturbing weigh-in from Daniel Lima at Pancrase 290.
Lima is scheduled to fight Daichi Kitaka in a strawweight 115 lb fight. The Brazilian fighter has fought at flyweight before, and after seeing how he looked on the scales in Japan, one would think that he would be better off fighting at the heavier weight class going forward.
Unable to walk himself to the scales, two men needed to carry him by each arm in order for him to weigh in. Clearly drained, he was barely able to remain standing as he waited to see what his weight read.
Fair warning, the following footage is genuinely hard to watch and some of our readers may find it disturbing.

This gut-churning moment came just a couple of weeks after the country hosted one of the most terrifying weigh-ins in UFC history.
Mizuto Hirota was the only fighter to miss weight for UFC Fight Night 117. He was set to fight Charles Rosa in a featherweight contest, but the bout was changed to a 150 lb catchweight contest after he came in four pounds over the 146 lb limit for non-title fights.
Hirota stumbled to the scales, barely remained on his feet and was visibly shaken as he was escorted away from the stage. He was pulled from the event the following day after the UFC medical team deemed him unfit for competition.
