It’s been some time since there’s been a rematch as hotly anticipated as the one which will take place between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones at UFC 214.
On July 29, the two greatest light heavyweights of all time will do battle for the second time with pride and the UFC 205lbs title on the line.
It could be argued that the ever-brimming bad blood between Jones and Cormier has turned the feud into the most vicious in mixed martial arts history, with a full three years of trash talk against one another under their belts.
It’s been going on so long that they’ve turned to criticism of their meals…
Jones you can't hurt me, u lunch like a bitch. Ur not winning decision next time. Just don't get ur dumb ass arrested again. Loser junkie
— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) April 4, 2016
Even during Jones’ extended spell away from the Octagon and Cormier’s string of successful title defences, the pair have been on a collision course for one another.
We’ve seen brawls at press conferences, countless promos and cancelled rematches along the way but, presuming tragedy doesn’t strike, it will all go down at the end of this month in California.
Cormier did however get real for a while when he showed a touch of class in a message to a bereaving Jon Jones.
But the week building up to the grudge rematch will be filled with tension and shit talk, as both men up their attempts to promote the event, but ‘DC’ is well on his way to hyping the fight.
“Dance for me, boy”
The 38-year-old, whose only MMA defeat came at the hands of ‘Bones’ in 2015, took to Instagram on Monday night to issue a tirade against his fiercest rival, calling on a line used by UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor last week and referencing Jones’ fondness for sexual enhancement pills in the process.
Cormier wrote more abuse alongside screenshots of Jones’ social media posts about the defending champion.

He’s not the only one who’s engrossed in this war of words – according to him.
“And they say I’m obsessed,” Cormier writes.
“Dance for me boy, keep commenting on all my shit. Watch me work. Show those insecurities.
“In your moment of judgement you pay close attention to the one that’s handing out the punishment.
“You got two weeks. Play my game!”
It’s really all about the P.S though.
“P.S You have a limp dick and horrible leg genetics.”
