When Vince McMahon wanted to fight Dana White, he gave him two options

Bellator would snap this up

Admit it, you would have tuned in for a gawk.

Vince McMahon versus Dana White. Two dons of the fight game – the entertainment game – slugging it out with nothing more than personal pride on the line.

We would have shelled out for this. No doubt.

McMahon walk

When news first broke of McMahon vs. White, in 2011, it was dismissed as nothing more than two promoters promoting their brands, and themselves.

The contest was said to be considered as a headline event to Wrestlemania XXVII in 2011 but never saw the (spot)light of day.

However, in an interview with Ebro Darden on Ebro in the Morning, White revealed just how close the pair came to facing off. He said:

“Think about Vince and all he has accomplished and how big his company is. It’s public [publicly limited], he could cash out; there’s so many things that guy could do. That guy wants to get up every morning and kick ass. Even at his age.

“You don’t see Vince retiring and taking off or buying a boat or anything. You’ve got to respect that.”

“He wanted to fight me. He said, ‘I’ll fight you in the WWE or we’ll do it in the UFC’,” White added.

White laugh

“Vince is 70-something years old,” the UFC president continued. “I started laughing, thinking ‘He’s crazy man’.

“Listen, no disrespect to him, but if I can’t beat a 70-something-year-old dude… I don’t care how big you are, or whatever you are, I’m 47 and I don’t feel like I felt when I was 37. So I can imagine how I’d feel when I’m 70-something.”

White referred to McMahon as “an animal” and joked that if he did not manage to beat McMahon, he would never be able to show his face again.
