Cowboy Cerrone will fight on Conor McGregor undercard after just two weeks rest

Yesterday we wrote in awe at the brutal but effective way that Donald Cowboy Cerrone ended his win over Myles Jury at UFC 182. With Jury on his back, Cerrone unleashed what he termed afterwards as ‘f*ck you’ kicks in frustration at the way the fight had gone.

It was yet another chapter in the unconventional career of Cerrone and now, the very next day, we have another.

It was announced overnight that Eddie Alvarez is ill and can’t fight Benson Henderson in the fight immediately before Conor McGregor’s headline fight with Dennis Siver in Boston on January 18. And Cerrone, on just two weeks rest, is the man stepping into the gap.

The two have fought twice before, in WEC in 2009 and 2010, with Henderson winning both, one by unanimous decision, one by submission.
