Conor McGregor doesn’t spend all his earnings on custom-made suits, body art and solid gold blood watches.

Speaking on the Ryan Tubridy Show on RTE Radio this morning, Tony McGregor revealed the impact Conor McGregor’s generosity has had on his family’s life.

Tony told the broadcaster that after his big-money fight against Chad Mendes at UFC 189, The Notorious had a sit down with his family and told them he was going to take care of them financially.

He explained to his parents that he was going to buy their house, which means they are now mortgage free while retaining in interest in the house.

Tony added that his family, along with Conor’s long-time girlfriend Dee Devlin, were called to a meeting with Conor and his accountant in which he revealed an extremely generous surprise.

“He spelled it out exactly what he was going to do for us. We walked out of there and we all had BMWs. I am driving a 5 series BMW now at the moment, brand spanking new. His mother is also driving one and his sister is driving one.”

This was a particularly touching moment for Tony, a Dublin taxi driver for 25 years, who admitted he was unable to afford to run his car in his job.

However, despite spending money on lavish gifts for his family and living the “showbizz life”, Tony explained that his son is in an extremely healthy place financially.

“He is a multi-millionaire now and also he is on the cusp of signing a major deal with the UFC, the biggest deal in the UFC history so he knows exactly where he is going in the business stakes as well.”
