Conor McGregor’s comments over a Croke Park title defence are very disappointing

The American chatshow host is just one of a number of media obligations that Conor McGregor has revealed he'll be fulfilling as he hits America ahead his December 12th showdown with Jose Aldo. The Dubliner confirmed today that he's off across the Atlantic to complete his training for the fight with the Brazilian in Las Vegas at UFC 194. McGregor, who overcame Chad Mendes to secure the interim featherweight championship belt in July, will be crowned undisputed champion if he overcomes Aldo next month. Dana White has regularly spoken about a possible title defence taking place in Croke Park next summer for McGregor if he wins, but the 27-year-old, speaking to Severe MMA, feels that any possible home title defence could be wide of the mark:

You know, I’ll believe Croke Park when I see it. I feel what I done in Las Vegas in July and what the Irish people done – we brought $200million in revenue to that city – it helped seal the deal on the new MGM deal for the UFC. I’ll believe Croke Park when I see it. I know they say this and they say that but I feel I might be locked into the MGM for a while. I feel the MGM want me every time because of what we bring so I’ll believe Croke Park when I see it.

Strong words from the Notorious, who also claims that he is prepared 'to kill' to beat Aldo next month. There long had been doubts over Croke Park as a venue suitable for a UFC event, but if the main man himself is having doubts, it looks like it could be along time before we see McGregor in front of Hill 16.
