Conor McGregor trolls Rangers fans with Celtic chant

Had the fans screaming along

Patrick McCarry

“GLASGOW IS GREEN AND WHITE!!”

Conor McGregor had the Scottish fans eating out of the palm of his hands.

The UFC lightweight champion was in Glasgow on Friday for an audience with eager MMA, boxing and trash-talk fans. Before we get to how he whipped the city’s Celtic fans into a lather, let’s cover some of main points from his appearance.

  • He believes there could be a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and claims ‘Money’ may soon fritter his most recent fight purse away
  • Convinced he could defeat Mayweather in a rematch
  • Will be watching Tony Ferguson vs. Kevin Lee at UFC 216 but has not committed to fighting the winner of the interim 155lbs belt
  • Would be open to a super-fight with Georges St-Pierre but fears he may lose to Michael Bisping at UFC 217
  • Remarked, “I’m not fat, I’m just having fun!” when his suit jacket burst open

And now to the Rangers trolling…

Taking to the stage almost an hour and a half later than advertised, McGregor soon had the fans going ballistic. He declared:

“What’s up Glasgow?

“What’s up Glasgow Celtic?! The only football club around here worth talking about.

“GLASGOW IS GREEN AND WHITE! I f**king love it!”

Cue absolute scenes.

You’d have to feel for any Rangers fans in the crowd as that scene unfolded.
