Conor McGregor tirelessly continues to promote cancelled Nate Diaz fight

Not giving up

It ain’t over until it’s over.

Conor McGregor is continuing to train and promote the only way he knows best – full tilt.

The Notorious was due to be fighting Nate Diaz at UFC 200, in nine weeks’ time, but his refusal to leave a training camp in Iceland to take part in a publicity tour saw that rematch shelved.

Regardless, McGregor’s focus is on avenging his UFC 196 loss to Diaz.

His series of retirement, not retired, ‘I’m back’ and ‘forever reign’ messages have kept the interest in the fight while Diaz, for his part, has fired back a couple.

On Monday, McGregor held court on Twitter and predicted a performance that would astound Diaz and the watching world. Last night, he was at it again.

Across numerous social media platforms, McGregor boasted about some of the shots he landed on Diaz and claimed he would “toy” with the Californian. Below a picture of him sparring with Owen Roddy, he declared:

“Working the rear hand uppercut with Roddy prior to UFC 196. A shot I called pre fight.

“Who else can call a shot like the rear hand uppercut on a big 6 foot lurch and then go out and dig that baby repeatedly into the nose? Anyone?

“Didn’t think so.

“Mark my fucking words I am going to toy with him in the rematch. Believe that.”

This could yet be the first UFC bout ever promoted by a slew of posts, messages, tweets and snaps.
