Conor McGregor backs Ronda Rousey to rebound, defends glove touch snub

Respect due

Patrick McCarry

Conor McGregor has landed in the United States and shared a few opinions.

The Notorious gave a 90-second snap interview to X17 Online upon touching down at LAX on Monday.

He gave Donald Trump his two cents, congratulated new UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm and predicted Ronda Rousey, the woman she beat, to bounce back.

“It was a very tough fight,” McGregor began.

“Holly [Holm] fought a great fight. And much respect. This is the fight business, things happen. Ronda will be back. True champions come back. And congratulations to Holly the new champion.”

Sagely, McGregor added, “Defeat is the secret ingredient to success.

“True champions can conquer that, overcome it and come back. So I wish her all the best and that’s it.”

Rousey gloves

Regarding Rousey’s decision not to touch gloves with Holm before her UFC 193 defeat, McGregor was stoic.

The Irishman said, “The emotions are high. It is what it is. You either want to touch gloves or you don’t.”
