Conor McGregor posts first Instagram since last night's defeat
The message was simple
Not exactly a man of few words, the Irishman is known more for his monologues, and everyone was particularly keen to see what he had to say after losing yet again, to Dustin Poirier.
McGregor originally was very respectful in the build-up to their last fight and in the aftermath, but this time around he was much more brash, aggressive and often disrespected his opponent's wife.
In the aftermath, when the fight was stopped after breaking his leg, Joe Rogan interviewed the Dubliner, who doubled down on his confrontational approach shouting "Your wife is in my DMs!"
After saying all pre-fight that Poirier will leave in a stretcher, it was in fact McGregor who was stretchered out and many thought that this embarrassing twist of irony, coupled by his disgraceful post-match comments, that he might be apologetic on reflection.
Hi message was short, sweet and simple. Not an admission of being wrong but rather a statement of defiance.
"You need people like me."
