Conor McGregor and Khabib to receive 10-day suspensions ahead of review

The Nevada State Athletic Commission tends to be a bit unpredictable.

We still don't know what kind of punishment that Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be facing, nor do we have any official confirmation that Zubaira Tukhugov and Islam Makhachev have been cut from the UFC roster. UFC President Dana White is hopeful that he will not have to strip Nurmagomedov of his lightweight title after the undefeated Russian made the horrible decision to leave the Octagon and confront Dillon Danis immediately after submitting McGregor in the main event of UFC 229. White has recommended a $250,000 fine and relatively short suspension for Nurmagomedov but the NSAC has yet to pay the Dagestani after deciding to withhold his payment, believed to be $2 million. McGregor was paid his $3 million for his night's work on Saturday after the NSAC initially viewed him as the victim of the post-fight melee but further examination of the footage showed 'The Notorious' striking out at a member of Nurmagomedov's team on top of the Octagon. Complaints will be filed against both fighters and, according to Lance Pugmire of the LA Times, 10-day suspensions will soon be issued to McGregor and Nurmagomedov ahead of the in-depth investigation into the incident. https://twitter.com/latimespugmire/status/1049456296867426304 Severe fines are expected to be handed down but the commission is unlikely to issue any further statement until the matter is heard next month.
