Life moves at 100m/ph when you’re Conor McGregor.
Gone are the days when he could wander down Grafton Steet unrecognised because in just four short years, McGregor has become one of the most famous faces on the planet.
More often than not, the reigning UFC lightweight champion is delighted to stop and take pictures with or sign autographs for his adoring fans.
He’s even had a bit of fun with two lads on the streets of Dublin who were play-fighting in his inimitable “nice and flowy” McGregor style.
But the attention must get tiresome at times and he was recently filmed losing his patience with one overeager fan who insisted on shoving his phone into the Dubliner’s face.
With McGregor’s long-term girlfriend, Dee Devlin, expecting the couple’s firstborn this summer, ‘The Notorious’ is genuinely concerned about the current way that he is mobbed everywhere he goes.
But in an interview with GQ Style magazine, McGregor has warned people not to get close to him while he is holding his baby.
“I’m not trying to bring a kid into that,” McGregor said. “If someone comes near me when I have my kid in my hands, like the way they come near me now, looking for pictures, someone’s gonna be badly hurt.”
McGregor recently revealed that his partner is expecting a baby boy and insisted that he’s going to train him to be a more successful mixed martial artist than his record-breaking father.
“The only time my records are going to be broken are by him. I’m going to train this child,” McGregor said during a Q&A event in Manchester. “I hope when it comes down to it I can settle down when I have a child.
“I hope I can man up and be a father.”
