Incredibly ripped Chris Weidman in the shape of his life ahead of UFC 210

All American, indeed

Chris Weidman looks ready.

It wasn’t all that long ago that Weidman was 13-0, fresh from three consecutive defences of the UFC middleweight title that he claimed by knocking out the greatest of all time, Anderson Silva.

But if his upcoming fight against Gegard Mousasi doesn’t play out the way he would like, he could be staring at a three-fight losing skid.

Weidman has been stopped in his two most recent outings, dropping his strap to Luke Rockhold before a slicing knee from Yoel Romero brought an end to their 185lbs clash in Weidman’s hometown.

But to say that defeat to Romero in New York at UFC 205 lit a fire under Weidman’s ass would be an understatement as ‘The All-American” appears to be in the best shape of his life.

Ahead of his UFC 210 meeting with Mousasi, Weidman shared a photograph documenting the fruits of his labour.

A win over Mousasi is crucial for Weidman if he is to get himself back in title contention while a defeat could well bring an end to his place at 185lbs as Weidman has repeatedly teased a move up to light heavyweight.

“I’m trying to go up to 205lbs and dominate up there too,” Weidman told FightHype.com in 2015. “185lbs is just the first baby step. There’s a very realistic chance of going up to 205 at some point just to get some more competition.”

But first up is Mousasi and that’s no easy task considering the fact that ‘The Dreamcatcher’ is on a four-fight win streak at middleweight.

UFC 210 takes place in Buffalo, New York on April 8 and is headlined by a UFC light heavyweight title rematch between champion Daniel Cormier and challenger Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson.
