As rumours circulate as to who CM Punk (real name Phil Brooks) will be matched up with for his first UFC fight, Cathal Pendred has suggested that the match-up has already been made.

Tweeting this afternoon, "The Punisher" revealed that he could be the one to welcome the former professional wrestler to the promotion. Dubliner Pendred (15-2) is 2-0 in the UFC and would be a very difficult first fight for Brooks who has yet to compete as a mixed martial artist. The Irish welterweight already has a fight in the pipeline, against Sean Spencer at UFC Fight Night 59 in Boston, but this message would lead us to believe that CM Punk is next up for the Irishman. SportsJOE contacted Pendred for further information but have yet to hear back from the SBG fighter.
