Cage Warriors is returning to the home city of the organisation’s most famous alumnus.

After three years away, the European promotion will set up shop in Dublin for the upcoming Cage Warriors 81 card on March 4.

In a statement released on Monday morning, Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan announced that the organisation will offer a showcase opportunity to some of the most promising Irish fighters in the 3Arena.

Cage Warriors is renowned for producing such UFC stars as Conor McGregor, Joe Duffy and Neil Seery and the return of the brand in Dublin will feature some of the cream of the crop of current Irish talent with the likes of Karl Moore, Lloyd Manning and Catherine Costigan expected to feature.

Northern Ireland’s Moore will fight for the vacant Cage Warriors light heavyweight world title but an opponent has yet to be announced while Cork’s Manning will welcome Scottish featherweight prospect Paul McBain to the Cage Warriors cage.

Former Invicta atomweight Costigan will speak to SportsJOE later today when she will discuss her recovery from her latest injury.

“I’m both proud and excited to be heading back to Ireland for Cage Warriors 81,” Boylan said.

“As a proud Irishman myself I’ve always been committed to the growth of mixed martial arts in Ireland, and CW 81 represents the latest opportunity for Irish MMA to shine on the big stage.

“The Dublin fans are renowned for producing the most electric atmosphere anywhere in the MMA world and I’m sure they’ll deliver yet again on March 4.

“We’ll bring the fights, you bring the noise and we’ll have one hell of a night at the 3Arena.”
