After John Hathaway pulled out with injury, Gunnar Nelson has been handed a new victim opponent for UFC 189. Brandon Thatch has been bumped up from the prelims to face the Icelandic-Irish fighter on the main card. Thatch was originally scheduled to face John Howard, who now goes up against late addition, Cathal Pendred on the undercard. Nelson (13-1-1) enters into this bout off the back of the first loss of his professional career against Tick "the horror" Story in the headline bout at UFC Fight Night 53. Similarly, Thatch (11-2) is fresh off his first loss in the UFC, which came at the hands of Benson Henderson at UFC Fight Night 60.     Hat-tip to Fox Sports
