No charges after Cork jockey allegedly assaulted by drunken racegoers

We'll leave it there so

Aidan Coleman appears to be willing to put all that mess that happened at Southwell in September behind him.

The Irish jockey was allegedly attacked by two men in the weighing room of the English course. The men were believed to hav been under the influence of alcohol and Coleman sustained minor injuries during the incident, including two chipped teeth.

Four people were arrested in connection with the assault but it was announced on Wednesday that they will not face charges.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police told BBC Sport that no further action would be taken. It is understood that Coleman was happy to put the matter behind him.

At the time of the incident, Coleman admitted he was critical of the stewards at the course for not being on the ball and allowing drunk attendees to remain on the course. He hinted that some racegoers at the event were well past the point of inebriation and were not removed from the course.
