Tiger Woods has just recorded his worst ever professional score

Bad day at the office

It’s safe to say that Tiger Woods had a nightmare today as he completed the worst round of his professional career with an 11-over-par 82 on the second day of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The former world number one has now missed two consecutive cuts for the first time in his career as he found himself dead last in a 132-man field.

Woods’ previous worst return over 18 holes came back in 2002 when he carded an 81 in the third round of the British Open but he managed to best himself today.

The 39-year-old gave himself an insurmountable task after recording 44 over the front nine including a double and triple bogey on consecutive holes.

Woods was competing in just his second event since missing the cut at the PGA Championship in August last year and his performance in this tournament will likely see him drop outside the top 50 for the first time since 2011.
