Seriously impressive Rory McIlroy stat shows why he loves the PGA Championships

Some record

No wonder why Rory McIlroy was so keen to get back to fitness for the 2015 PGA Championships.

There was doubt cast over McIlroy’s involvement in this year’s competition at Whistling Straits as we haven’t seen the Hollywood native on the tee box since the US Open in June.

The world number one has been taking a break from the good walk spoiled after suffering an ankle in an ill-advised game of football shortly after finishing up in a lacklustre ninth spot. However, last week McIlroy confirmed that he would be returning to defend his PGA Championships title this year.

Having won the tournament outright twice, in 2014 and 2012 respectively, it’s fair to say that it has been kind to McIlroy over the years. When you crunch the numbers of his performances over the past six years, you see that he really is a force to be reckoned with at Whistling Straits.

Ridiculous, no one else even comes close.
