It’s not every day a superstar sportsman drops by at your makeshift lemonade stand, but if that sportsman is Phil Mickelson then it pays to up your customer service levels.

The American was in Ohio for The Memorial tournament and when he spotted youngsters Roland and Elise van Karsen’s roadside venture he pulled over for some refreshment, and boy, does Lefty tip well, dropping a $100 bill as payment.

The gesture is nothing new for former world No.2 Mickelson, who has a reputation as a friendly tipper.

The Memorial, affectionately known as ‘Jack’s tournament’ due its association with Jack Nicklaus, was won by David Lingmerth after a thrilling play-off with Justin Rose last night. The Swede claimed his maiden PGA Tour triumph with a nerveless final-round display, finishing off Rose on the third extra hole.
