WATCH: UCD’s Jack Barry scores an absolute beauty during Sigerson Cup victory over Maynooth

Matthew Gault

No stopping that.

UCD made light work of Maynooth on Tuesday afternoon as they comfortably booked their place in Round 2 of the Sigerson Cup.

John Divilly’s charges, beaten finalists to St Mary’s last year, were deserved winners, with several players catching the eye at Maynooth University.

That included Kerry’s Jack Barry, who scored an absolute beauty of a goal en route to the win. Barry shone in midfield throughout the game but he ensured his place in the highlight reel with a wonderfully taken goal, lobbing Maynooth keeper Niall Carrie.

It was the culmination of a slick passing move from UCD and a goal which put the result beyond Maynooth’s reach. In truth, it was worthy of winning any game.
