Perhaps we rip the backside of throwing the whole amateur thing in people’s faces but, when you look in from the outside, it’s easy to grow envious.

Even Ipswich Town manager, Mick McCarthy, sees a desire and commitment from GAA folk that he doesn’t see from top-level footballers. Footballers who are getting paid and all.

Featuring on tonight’s RTÉ documentary, Páirc Life, the former Republic of Ireland boss compares the attitudes and mentality of GAA and soccer players and he discusses whether or not Gaelic Footballers could make the leap to professional sport.
