How do you stop him?

Kieran Donaghy looks like he’s picked up where he left off last season for Austin Stacks after a devastating performance over the weekend for his club.

The reigning Munster senior club champions were facing the Colm Cooper-led Dr Crokes on Sunday in a county league clash.

Not only that but the game also doubled up as the decider for the 2014 county league final several months after that competiton concluded. Only in Kerry.

If the game ended in a draw on Saturday both sides would get a point for this year’s league, while extra-time would be played to decide who’d lift the silverware.

As it happened the game did end in a draw after the hour, with Donaghy’s goal helping his side to a vital point as it ended 1-7 to 0-10.

The Kerry senior star was in unstoppable form for his side with his goal a wonderful punched effort, while his mere presence was enough to help his team score the vital second for Shane Guthrie as Stacks ran out 2-9 to 0-13 winners to lift a league and championship double.
