Tribute to Páirc Uí Chaoimh will be sure to send shivers down your spine

Darragh Culhane

The lads in Cork kept us waiting but oh how it was worth the wait.

Páirc Uí Choimh opened its gates during the week but Saturday’s clash between Tipperary and Clare was the first time that an inter county championship match was played at the stadium.

The scenes during the game were phenomenal with the stands packed and one can only imagine what it will be like when Cork will grace the pitch.

The stadium has hosted a number of classic games and high profile concerts since opening in 1976 but it was decided it would undergo redevelopments and they started back at the start of 2015.

And now Cork have a state of the art ground fit for anywhere in the world but nobody will forget the good times that the ‘old’ Pairc Uí Chaoimh.

The video team over at The Sunday Game paid tribute to the home of Cork hurling and it is absolutely phenomenal.

Daire O’Brien acts as the narrator in the stunning video and it would make you proud to have ever attended the stadium.
