“Hurling is what people are about in this place.”

There are more than 90 GAA clubs in Dublin alone, and all of them have one thing in common: people.

These are the people who get up early at the weekends to paint the sidelines and cut the grass, or stick jerseys out on the line. It’s all a part of what makes the GAA so special, and it’s all part of the fabric that makes up organisations like Faughs GAA Club.

Founded back in 1885 with the help of a certain Michael Cusack, it’s one of the oldest clubs in the country that has been at the heart of the GAA since its very inception. Even after all these years, the club continues to grow and encourage new generations to play the games of hurling and camogie.

As you’ll see from the video below, made in partnership with AIG Insurance, Faughs staying true to their roots certainly hasn’t stopped them from keeping the club from evolving and moving forwards.

To celebrate the proud heritage and efforts of Dublin’s 90+ GAA clubs, AIG Ireland has created a series of mini documentaries which highlight the efforts of those that keep Dublin GAA ticking. Dub Club Chronicles is a Dublin-based GAA club video series that shines a light on the heart of each community in Dublin, the GAA club.

AIG Ireland offers excellent rates on their car and home insurance to Dublin GAA clubs and LGFA members across the country with a wide range of benefits. To get a quote visit www.aig.ie or call 1890 27 27 27. Find out more here
