Slaughtneil request semi-final fixture switch to avoid Valentine’s Day wedding clash

CCCC confirm request to delay semi-final

Gareth Makim

Ulster club champions Slaughtneil have asked for their AIB All-Ireland Club Championship semi-final to be postponed so one of their players can attend a family wedding.

The Derry side beat Omagh St Enda’s to win their first provincial title on Sunday, setting up a February 14 clash with Munster champions Austin Stacks.

Being Valentine’s Day, though, romance has intervened and the CCCC has confirmed they have received a request to move the game to Sunday, February 15 to allow one of the Slaughtneil players attend the wedding of a family member.

We’ll soon know if the CCCC has a romantic bone in its body…
