Shocking scenes as brawl extends into the stands during Oulart-the-Ballagh vs Naomh Barróg

There were some unsavoury scenes in Parnell Park on Saturday, during the clash of Wexford’s Oulart-the-Ballagh and Dublin’s Naomh Barróg.

Dublin senior three champions Naomh Barróg of Kilbarrack pulled off a huge shock to win what was a titanic tussle of a Leinster intermediate quarter final, but the game has hit the headlines for a brawl that broke out on the field and extended into the stands.

Players and subs from both sides were involved, before supporters clashed in the stands, as you can see in the video below. The row broke out during the second half of the game and it is reported by the Irish Examiner that the Leinster council will conduct a probe into the brawl as soon as the referee issues his match report.

A penalty shoot-out was required to separate the sides after they were still level on 2-22 to 1-25 after extra-time. Naomh Barróg advanced to the semi-finals of the Leinster competition after prevailing 3-2 on penalties.
