He believes the rise in ticket prices are “definitely expensive.”
Limerick and Cork will play against each other in the Munster SHC final on June 7th. The two sides faced off in the championship two weeks ago, with the Treaty County winning easily at home.
For fans to watch their sides compete in the Munster final at TUS Gaelic Grounds, they will have to deal with a €5 increase on tickets compared to last year.
Adult tickets will now cost €50 for the stand and €40 for terrace.
With this being the second year in a row where there has been a €5 increase on tickets, fans displayed their anger on social media over the GAA’s decision.
Cork boss, Pat Ryan, has given his answer on whether the fans are right to see these ticket prices as expensive.
He said: “It is, without a shadow of a doubt.
Ryan added: “I’d especially think that there should be a different terrace price. That’s probably a bit of a cost, but I don’t set those things.”
The Rebels’ manager noted that the demand being so strong for the Munster final was going to lead in a rise in prices. He acknowledged this being difficult for the fans though, and feels his team have a job to deliver against Limerick.
He said: “What I’d say is it’s definitely expensive if we give the kind of performance to Cork fans that we gave the last day against Limerick. If we give a performance like we were able to play last year against Limerick, it’ll be well worth it.
“Our job is to make sure that there’s value for money for fans going.”
