“All changed, changed utterly. A terrible beauty was born.”

100 years on, the Easter Rising is as significant as ever and O’Neill’s wouldn’t let it pass without paying respects.

In its 98th year itself, O’Neill’s has marked the 100th anniversary of one of the most important dates in Irish history by releasing commemoration GAA jerseys.

Fitted with the words of the Proclamation on its back, the limited edition 1916 shirt isn’t just a special keepsake worthy of such an anniversary, but it is a delicious little number too.

“As O’Neills move towards our own Centenary in 2018, we are proud and grateful to be involved in commemorating the 100th Anniversary of this compelling event from which modern Ireland developed,” the manufacturers stated.
