One overwhelming reaction to Davy Fitzgerald’s antics today

The word 'ban' was mentioned

People were keen to have their say.

What a bloody match that was.

After the uninspiring game between Galway and Limerick in first semi-final, hurling fans were relieved when they witnessed what took place in Nowlan Park this afternoon.

This match had everything.

Great scores, huge hits, a raucous atmosphere and some serious controversial moments from the man himself, Davy Fitzgerald.

With just 10 minutes to go, Wexford were going toe-to-toe with the All-Ireland champions before a late flourish from the Premier County diminished any hopes of a shock result.

Tipperary ran our 5-18 – 1-19 winners but don’t let the scoreline fool you, this was an incredibly tight contest for the majority of the game.

The main talking point, as you probably know now, was Fitzgerald running onto the pitch to confront the referee.

He subsequently started squaring up to the Tipperary players and dropped a few shoulders.

As you do.

His antics, of course, didn’t go unnoticed.

There was one overwhelming reaction to his carry on.

Some though were simply reveling in the entertainment.

And some just put his behaviour down to passion.

We’re looking forward to the post-match interviews.
