Put two GAA stars and a guitarist in a Peugeot for unmissable carpool karaoke

Mikey Stafford

Hurler, cricketer, sixth member of Westlife… is there an end to Brendan Maher’s talents?

Conor McManus, arguably the most in-form Gaelic footballer in the country, joined the Tipperary captain in the new Peugeot 308 for a bit of a singsong as they were driven around Dublin city centre by SportsJOE.

Monaghan captain McManus, a huge Bruce Springsteen fan, admits himself he should stick to the football, but accompanied by Podge from Brave Giant on guitar, the Monaghan captain gave 100 percent. As always.

But it’s Maher, from the back seat, who steals the show.

Check out the video below to see two of the top GAA stars in the country as you have never seen them before – nailing Johnny Cash numbers, singing along to Mumford and Sons and belting out Springsteen’s ‘The River’.

But it is the rendition of Flying Without Wings at the end that has to be seen to be believed.
