Gardaí find illegal drugs worth €5,000 stashed inside protein canister at Wicklow GAA club

An estimated €5,000 worth of drugs were found by Gardaí at Kilcoole GAA club, Co Wicklow.

Independent.ie broke the news that the Gardaí discovered the drugs inside a protein canister in the gym area of the club.

The discovery was made more than a fortnight ago after the Gardaí received an anonymous tip-off that the drugs were hidden there.

Officers are still awaiting the test results, but it is suspected that the drugs found were cocaine and heroin. The case is being investigated by Greystones Gardai and no arrests have been made connected to the matter so far.

Kilcoole GAA released the following statement on their Facebook page in relation to the news:

There was recently a discovery of what is suspected to be a quantity of drugs stashed in the attic of the old clubhouse…
