Ratification

The Tribesmen will have a new leader.

Galway are set to ratify the appointment of Micheal Donoghue as the county’s new hurling manager at a county board meeting this evening.

The Clarinbridge man takes over from Anthony Cunningham, who resigned following a bitter row with the squad that included the loss of a vote of confidence from players.

Galway Bay FM are reporting that former All-Ireland club winning manager Donoghue fended off competition from Mattie Kenny and Justin Campbell.
