The hits keep on coming for Meath as they are handed beast of a qualifier draw

Nobody wanted the trip to Tyrone

Gareth Makim

The draw for the latest round of All-Ireland football qualifiers has taken place this morning and it’s delivered another kick in the teeth for Meath fans

The Royals are nursing their wounds after yesterday’s collapse against Westmeath at Croke Park but Mick O’Dowd’s men will have to recover their composure quickly to have any chance of beating Tyrone, who comfortably dispatched Limerick yesterday, in Omagh in two weeks’ time.

It’s no easier for Wexford as they are rewarded for Saturday night’s win over Down with a tough trip north to Derry, while Ulster hosts three of the four games with Galway travelling to take on Armagh.

The final game sees Tipperary host Louth.

The draw in full:
Derry v Wexford
Tyrone v Meath
Tipperary v Louth
Armagh v Galway

Ties to be played on Saturday, July 11, times and venues to be confirmed.
