Dublin receive significant boost ahead of crunch Kerry clash

Good news for the Dubs

Eoghan O’Gara will come back into the Dublin squad for their All-Ireland Senior Football semi-final against Kerry.

The forward was one of two Dubliners sent off during their 1-15 to 1-10 win over Donegal in the quarter-finals. Diarmuid Connolly was also shown red during the game for two yellow card offences.

Referee Ciaran Branagan dismissed O’Gara, who came on a substitute in the second half, for “striking with the hand,” but the GAA have since downgraded the incident following an appeal. On review the Central Hearings Committee found that the incident was merely  ‘rough play’, which is a yellow-card offence.

As a result,  O’Gara will now be available to play for the All-Ireland champions against the Kingd0m on August 28.
