It’s all going on in Mayo.

Whilst the rest of the country sleeps, the west is very much awake.

Donal Vaughan has transferred club from Ballinrobe to Castlebar.

The Mayo News broke the story that the inter-county star has moved to the senior football champions after 11 years as a senior with Ballinrobe.

Vaughan is living and working in Castlebar and Ballinrobe were relegated this season to intermediate football for the first time in 15 years. The Mitchels are already three-in-a-row champions in Mayo but they have been boosted further with the addition of one of the most athletic footballers in the country.

Having lost the Connacht final to Corofin after extra time in November, the arrival of Vaughan will be a massive presence to add to the like of Paddy Durcan, Barry Moran, Danny Kirby and Neil Douglas.
