Donal Óg Cusack shuts down troll perfectly after paying surprising tribute to John Terry

We didn't think he was a Chelsea fan

If you can dry your eyes for a moment, then there may be some good news about John Terry’s departure from Chelsea.

The Blues captain announced last night that he was pretty much certain to leave Stamford Bridge this summer as the club will not be offering him a new contract.

The defender has been at the club since 1998, but confirmed last night that the ‘fairytale finish’ he was hoping for – to retire at Stamford Bridge – will not happen.

That would all have been fine except this morning it’s being reported that the Chelsea man may have a new contract shoved under his nose after all, depending on how the rest of the season pans out for the current Premier League champions as the club explained last night.

“John was advised that while no new deal was currently on the table, that situation could change in the coming months. The club has the utmost respect for John and everything he has helped us achieve to date.”

So it seems that the end may not be quite there yet for the centre-half who it was mooted last night could finish his career in the MLS or even China.

Before this morning’s news however there was dozens of tributes on social media to the Chelsea legend, but one which caught our eye was from former Cork goalkeeper Donal Og Cusack.

The current Clare coach paid a warm tribute to the better qualities of the Chelsea man last night and even though we never figured the current Clare coach for a Terry fan, his tweet certainly  annoyed some people

And this particular Twitter user then got stuck into a heated row with Cusack over the former England captain.

Until it ended of course how you would expect in this situation
