Diarmuid Connolly ruins two defenders in lead up to classy goal

Jack O'Toole

We shouldn’t really be surprised by this but it’s still brilliant to watch.

Diarmuid Connolly stepped away from the Dublin senior men’s football panel earlier this year to head to the United States where he has joined Donegal Boston in the Boston Mens Senior Football Championship.

Connolly spent the best part of a decade terrorising intercounty defences in Ireland so it’s no real surprise he’s running amok in Massachusetts.

Connolly scored 1-6 in a recent Donegal win over Galway GFC Boston and he toyed with the Tribesman defence as he shook off challenges, faked out a defender and buried the ball into the bottom corner.

Dublin have not missed his presence since his move to America with Niall Scully, Con O’Callaghan and Ciaran Kilkenny working very well together in the Jacks half-forward line.

However, while it may be against lesser quality opposition than what Connolly has faced in the past, the goal above is a swift reminder of his immense talent.
