Peadar Healy has stepped down as Cork manager after two years with the Rebels.
Healy announced his decision after Mayo’s narrow victory over Cork at the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday.
Cork came under heavy criticism this year after producing below par performances against both Waterford and Tipperary in the Munster Senior Football Championship.
His side also suffered at the hands of Kerry in the final in an 11 point defeat.
Healy’s side needed a late comeback to overcome the Déise as well as heroics to get past Tipperary.
To their credit, the Rebels looked as if they were to cause the biggest shock of the season when they came up against Mayo after forcing last year’s All-Ireland’s finalists to extra time where they were eventually undone 0-27 to 2-20.
