Allianz National Hurling League Round 4: All the action and talking points

Niall McIntyre

Hurling snobs, this is your time.

No football, no problem.

Let’s not beat around the bush, the hurling League has been pretty boring so far, it hasn’t really got going. But with no football to steal the limelight, hurling is in the spotlight this weekend and we’ll be hoping for some competitive clashes.

Tipperary take on Waterford on Saturday night in what should be an exciting encounter, especially when you consider that Tipperary manager Liam Cahill managed Waterford up until last year.

Players like Austin Gleeson, Seamus Callanan, Jamie Barron, Tadhg De Búrca and Noel McGrath are all in action there. Elsewhere, Aaron Gillane and Diarmaid Byrnes return to the Limerick panel for the first time this year.

Clare vs Galway should be another interesting encounter on Sunday, as should Cork vs Wexford, who will be eyeing a bounce-back after their annihilation at the hands of Clare last weekend.

Whatever happens, we’ll be here to keep you in the loop. You can keep up to date with all the action in our live-blog below.
