Aidan O’Shea bamboozles Tyrone defence with pass that’d make Diarmuid Connolly blush

It was a great night for Mayo as Kevin McStay’s in-form side dispatched Tyrone with ease in Castlebar.

Finishing the match with 4-10 to Tyrone’s 0-12 Mayo put on an impressive display to cap another big win this season.

Tyrone started well but around 25 minutes in Mayo started what would end up being a slew of goals when O’Shea’s effort was well-saved by Niall Morgan, but bounced back off Frank Burns to end up in the back of the net.

The moment of the match came from another O’Shea involvement when he managed to pull off a beauty of a pass. The 32-year-old struck with the outside of his boot towards James Carr, who caught the ball wonderfully. The full-forward then beat Niall Morgan with a cool finish into the corner of the net for Mayo’s second goal of the night.

More goals came by the way of Enda Hession and Man-of-the-Match Diarmuid O’Connor as Mayo had the game basically wrapped up at the start of the second half.

Mayo’s impressive win tonight builds another their last outing where McStay’s side delivered one of this season’s best performances with an excellent 2-14 to 1-10 win over All-Ireland champions Kerry last weekend. They now sit top of the table, level with Roscommon on six points.

Elsewhere this evening, Dublin clawed back to win by a point over Clare in what would have been the upset of the season so far. A last gasp Cormac Costello point sealed the win as the Dubs scored six without reply at the end of the second half.
