15 Tipperary men nominated for 2016 hurling All-Stars

Conan Doherty

Decent year all round.

The GAA/GPA Opel Hurling All-Stars nominations have been revealed and it’s no surprise to learn that Tipperary absolutely dominate the list.

15 players from the Premier county have been included in the nominations with the rest of the 45-strong list being made up as follows: Waterford (9); Kilkenny (8); Galway (6); Clare (3); Wexford (2); Limerick (1), Cork (1).

A Munster title and an unprecedented All-Ireland success was enough for the entire Tipp team to be recognised on the list and two players have also been put forward for hurler of the year.

Player of the Year features Waterford’s Austin Gleeson alongside Tipperary’s Pádraic Maher and Séamus Callanan.
