These are spectacular

Well, that went pretty alright.

Another scintillating game of hurling means the final on the first Sunday of September will bridge either a 29-year gap or quench a 58-year drought.

All-Ireland SHC final
Waterford v Galway
September 3, 3.30pm

Galway haven’t won the championship since 1988.

Waterford haven’t won it since 1959.

The Deise rampaged into their first decider in nine years with a 4-19 to 0-20 win over the Munster champions Cork on Sunday with two goals from Austin Gleeson putting an emphatic end to the point-for-point nature the game had fallen into.

72,022 had Croker rocking on its hinges but when you see the Waterford people in full voice, you see passion personified. You see the very best of support in the GAA and it was all evident in the blue and white as they roared their county into the All-Ireland final.

1. Here and proud.

2. It’s actually happening.

3. Get it up ye.

4. Rock and Dan Shanahan getting told off by the ref and they’re not even playing.

5. Derek McGrath is Waterford to the core.

6. This is serious shit.

7. Some people can barely look.

8. McGrath and Shanahan puck every ball.

9. Maurice Shanahan and Austin Gleeson did too, literally.

10. Kevin Popeye Moran loved it.

11. All hail King Austin.

12. Behind every good team are raging supporters.

13. A county rises.

14. True love.

But spare a thought, would you?
