He is not taking this lightly!

Dublin's loss to Kerry has put the topic of introducing video assistance to GAA front and centre in the sport's discourse.

And for good reason. The three huge and contentious calls - which went in Kerry's favour and which we have written about - ultimately decided the game.

When players and management are putting so much of their life into the game, the officials need help of some sort.

Conversely, we have seen the damage that VAR inflicts on football at times, and the level of intrusion it has on that sport, which is why a lot of GAA fans would be rightfully skeptical of such a monumental change.

Nonetheless, it is a change that the GAA need to consider as soon as possible.

Dublin boss Ger Brennan immediately called for the introduction of video assistance for next season, following the loss to Kerry.

He said: "Why do we not have video assistance technology, I think that's something that needs to change for next year.

"I think referees deserve it, I think players deserve it, because everyone is putting so much into it."

However, writing in his Irish Times column, his old foe Darragh Ó Sé did not have much sympathy for Brennan and his team, and feels that managers need to just suck it up if decisions don't go their way.

The Kerry legend wrote: "What I find funny in these situations is when managers start talking about things in the wider context, like bringing in video technology for the good of the game. As if they care high up or low down about the good of the game. I didn’t hear Ger calling for video technology a fortnight ago when John Maher got the head taken off him for Galway against Dublin.

"But that’s the nature of it. I don’t want to be picking on Ger specifically here. Every manager is the same."
