Having ended his time at Barcelona last summer, Xavi is now playing out the twilight years of his career in Qatar.
Speaking to Eurosport, Xavi has expressed his regret at not sampling life in the Premier League, admitting that it remains a big attraction for any player.
Discussing the depth of quality in the league, Xavi eventually is pressed into revealing his preferred choice of English club.
“If I had to select one, it would have to be a club with a great history; maybe Manchester United or Liverpool.
“I know that there are clubs who have emerged quite recently, like Manchester City for example, but United is my favourite historically-speaking.”
