The Swiss transport minister breathes a huge sigh of relief.
Jurgen Klopp got carried away with himself – it’s one of the things we love most about him.
The German has had to move swiftly to withdraw his rallying cry of every Liverpool supporter joining them in Basel for the Europa League final on May 18.
In his own words: “I spoke like a supporter. I do it sometimes – firstly because I am a supporter.”
That enthusiasm, that energy is part of what makes the manager so good, so infectious. It’s part of the reason he has taken this Brendan Rodgers team – one which we all agreed needed stripped apart only a few months ago – and now has them on the brink of European success.

Liverpool are riding the crest of a wave summoned by Jurgen Klopp and it’s perfectly understandable that people are getting carried away with themselves. Even the man himself.
Sunday’s 2-0 over Watford with a second-string outfit brought the new boss’ record over the last seven months to dizzy heights: 23 wins, 84 goals, two finals.
19,000 hugs.
But he has had to calm himself and realise that his invitation to the entire Liverpool-supporting world would’ve seen millions upon millions of red jerseys descend upon Basel on the one evening.
He doesn’t want that anymore.
