Vine: Paddy McGuinness cleans Emile Heskey’s boots after twitter bet goes wrong

Finally, Emile Heskey gets the last laugh

Neil Treacy

As predictions go, claiming that a 36-year-old Emile Heskey won’t score a goal seemed like a safe one.

Comedian, TV presenter and Bolton fan Paddy McGuinness clearly though so, and proclaimed to the world back on St Stephen’s Day that he would clean the big man’s boots if he came off the bench to score against Blackburn.

And as luck would have it, Heskey linked up with his fellow 36-year-old strike partner Eidur Gudjohnsen to bag the equaliser. It’s worth noting that Blackburn lost a 1-0 lead that day to a strike force aged a combined 72-years-old. True to his word though, McGuinness landed on at Bolton training this morning to honour his bet, giving Heskey’s boots a good scrubbing, while pretending that all along he had nothing but respect for the veteran striker.

Oh, the banter!
